HPC-Europa2: research visits using High Performance Computing
HPC-Europa is an
EC-funded programme which allows scientists to carry out short "transnational access" research visits to collaborate with a research department working in a similar field.
Applicants can be working in any discipline, but MUST require the use of High Performance Computing facilities (for large-scale computer modelling, etc).
Deadline: 15th September 2010.
Workshop "Data driven dynamical networks", September 26th-October 1st, 2010, Les Houches
The theme of the workshop revolves around the dynamics of complex networks and the recent advances in that field. Its goal is to bring together researchers at the forefront of this research activity across disciplines, focusing on the recent developments which have made large amounts of data available. The main topics of the workshop will be:
- real-time measure of social interactions
- caracterisation, analysis and modeling of dynamical networks
- dynamical processes on dynamical networks
- visualization of dynamical networks
- integration of online and offline social networks
- applications to epidemiology, social sciences, computer sciences
The workshop is moreover open to contributed presentations.
Registration is free but mandatory, as the workshop attendance is limited.
Details on registration and contributed talks can be found
here.
Deadline for registration (and submission of title and abstract) before May 31st.
Notification of accepted talks: July 1st.

TAGp2010, 20 - 22 October 2010, Annecy-le-Vieux
This event aims at bringing in contact people from different domains (physics, mathematics, biology, computer science) concerned with various theoretical and experimental aspects of the genome and of the structure of proteins. There are two precedents TAG06 and TAG08. TAGp 2010 expands towards new topics:
- Macromolecular assembly (proteins and nucleic acids)
- Darwinian evolution
- Mathematical approaches in biology
As high quality experimental data are becoming available today, it is important to realize how theoretical backgrounds are applied for the physical description of interacting many-body systems and how they can provide new developments in experimental biological systems. TAGp 2010 provides the environment for wide discussion among scientists of different expertises.

Integrative Post-Genomics (IPG), 25-26 novembre 2010, Lyon, La Doua
L'IXXI est partenaire de la conference "
Integrative Post-Genomics" (IPG, Lyon, 25-26 novembre 2010). L'objectif d'IPG est de promouvoir les échanges entre scientifiques de différentes disciplines (biologie, mathématiques, informatique) qui sont intéressés dans la découverte de connaissances à partir des données générées par des projets génomiques et post-génomiques.
Appel à résumé : ouvert jusqu'au 15 octobre 2010.
International conference on synthetic biology: Bottom-up, Top-down and Cell-free approaches, Intellectual Property issues, December 15th and 16th, 2010, Evry
Several approaches of Synthetic Biology research have been individualized - Top-down, Bottom-up, and Cell-free systems - all of these having produced many encouraging results. Our conference will allow the worldwide leaders in Synthetic Biology to show their latest advances.
As Synthetic Biology moves forwards, new Intellectual Property Right models need to be defined, and the choice of these models will have a major impact in shaping the future of Synthetic Biology. A session will be devoted to Intellectual Property to address these issues.
Our conference follows the Biomanufacturing Symposium also organized by Genopole® on December 14th, in which some applications of Synthetic Biology will be presented.
Submission of abstract or article before June 30th.
